Envy
Definition:
Sin, when full-blown, produces destruction, tragedy and
death. As such the jealous person may soon find
themselves with undesirable, destructive emotions. A
judgmental attitude comes, and hate may follow. Thus it
turns into the loss of their spiritual connection with
God.
Scripture
Galatians 5:19-21. The deeds of the flesh are quite
evident when we observe the behavior of those who
display immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry,
sorcery, strife and jealousy, outbursts of anger,
disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness,
carousing, and things like these. God forewarned us that
individuals who put into practice such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.
James 1:14-15. Each one is tempted when he gets carried
away by his own lust. When lust has been embraced by
anyone, it gives birth to sin. Sin brings forth death.
Proverbs 3:31-32. Do not envy man of his aggression, and
do not embrace any of his ways. The warped person is a
disgrace to the Lord. God has a close and personal
relationship with those who are upright through His son
Jesus the Christ.
Proverbs 3:3. Never allow kindness and truths to leave
you, bind them about your neck. Write them on the tablet
of your heart.
Proverbs 14:30 A serene heart is life to the boy, but
passion is decay to the bones.
Galatians 5:25-26. When we live in the Spirit let us
also walk in the Spirit. Don’t become boastful,
challenging, or envious of one another.
Proverbs 23:16-17. My inmost being will rejoice when
your mouth speaks out with what is right. Do not let
your heart envy sinners, but remember God may not
tolerate your sin any longer.
Ezekiel 35:11. As I live, declares the Lord God, I will
deal with everyone according to their anger and
according to their anger which they have shown because
of their hatred against others. I will make myself known
in the midst of them when I judge them.
Mathew 27:18. Jesus knew that because of envy they had
delivered Him up.
Mark 15:10. Christ knew that the chief priests had
delivered Him up because of their envy.
Romans: 13:12-14. The night is almost ended, the day is
at hand. Let us for that reason lay aside the deeds of
darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us conduct
ourselves properly as in the day, don’t continue
carousing, drunkenness, sexual promiscuity, sensuality,
in strife and jealousy. Arm yourself with the Lord Jesus
Christ and make no provision for the flesh in regard to
the lust it harbors.
