Definition
Great annoyance: a feeling of extreme annoyance.
Normally vengeance and retribution are in our minds.
Bible Statement
Do not retire in the evening with anger on your heart,
but make peace with those you are at odds with.
Scripture
Ephesians 4:25-27 laying aside falsehood, speak
the truth, each one to his neighbor, for we are members
of the same body. You can be angry, and still you are
not to sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and do not give the devil an opportunity to invade your
thoughts.
Matthew 18:34-35 the person in authority, moved
with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he
should repay all that was owed him. 35 So shall your
heavenly Father also do to you, if each of you does not
forgive his brother from your heart.
5:19-20 we find that when we follow our own wrong
feelings our lives will produce evil results and impure
thoughts which will display our eagerness for lustful
pleasure, 20; we may embrace idolatry, evil spirits
encouraging the activity of demons, hatred, fighting,
jealousy and anger.
James 1:19 you know this, my beloved brethren.
Let one and all be quick to listen, slow to speak and
slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not attain
the morality of God.
Colossians 3:8-10 for now you need to put aside
all anger, rage, hatred, and maligning, insulting speech
from your mouth. 9 Do not speak an untruth to any one,
since you laid aside your old self with its earthly
practices, 10 put on the new self who is now being
renewed to the truth and knowledge according to the
image of the One who created you.
Ephesians 6:4 4 fathers, do not provoke your
children to anger; but raise them up in the discipline
and teaching of our Lord.
Ephesians 4:30-32 do not cause great sadness to
the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the
day of your deliverance. 31 Let all resentment,
vengeance, anger, persistent shouting and slander be
cleared up from you along with all hatred. 32 be kind to
one another, tender-hearted, pardoning each other, just
as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Galatians 5:19-21 the deeds of the flesh are
obvious, they are: wickedness, impurity, sensuality, 20
idolatry, sorcery, hostility, conflict, covetousness,
outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21
envying, drunkenness, carousing, all the things like
these, which I have forewarned you that those who do
such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Psalms 103:8-13 God is compassionate and
gracious, slow to anger abounding in loving kindness. He
never bears a feeling of resentment, 9 nor remains angry
forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our
sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As
high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His
loving kindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the
east is from the west, so far has He removed our
transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion
on children, so the Lord has compassion on those who
fear Him. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our
sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great
is His loving kindness toward those who fear Him.
Galatians 5:18-26 if you are led by the Spirit,
you are not under the Law. Now the actions of the flesh
are evident, which are immorality, strife, impurity,
sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, anger, enmities,
jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions,
factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things
like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have
warned you in advance that those who practice such
things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience
faithfulness, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and
self-control; against such things there is no law. Now
those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
flesh with its passions and cravings. If we live by the
Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. 26 Do not become
boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
Ephesians 4:25-27 therefore, laying aside
falsehood, speak truth, each one with his neighbor, for
we are both of the same body. 26 Be angry, without
sinning. Do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 do
not open the door for the devil, he is just looking for
an opportunity to confuse your mind.
Exodus 15:7 in the greatness of your excellence
you do overthrow those who raise up against you. You do
send forth your burning anger. Your anger consumes them
as chaff.
Deuteronomy 6:14-16 do not chase after other
gods, of those who are all around you. The Lord your God
is always in among you He is a jealous God. Do not
offend Him or the anger of God could pour out on you.
You could be removed from the face of the earth. Do not
attempt to put God to a test as you have tested Him at
Massah. Pursue with diligence to keep His commandments.
Also do not forget His testimonies and His statutes
which He has commanded you.
Micah 5:15 I will execute vengeance in anger and
wrath on the nations which have not obeyed.
Job 9:5-6 5 God who removes the mountains, they
know not when He overturns them in His anger. Who shakes
the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble?
Jonah 3:8-9 "But both man and beast must be
covered with the clothes of morning. Let all men call on
God with intense seriousness that each may turn from his
wicked way and from the violence, which is in his hands.
9 "Who knows, God may turn and relent, and withdraw His
burning anger so that we shall not perish?"
2nd Peter 3:9-10 the Lord is swift about His
promise, as some would count His response as slowness,
but regarding you He is patient, He doesn’t desire any
would perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But
the day of the Lord will come like a thief, heavens will
pass away with a roar and the elements will be
demolished with intense heat, and the earth and its
works will be burned up.
