Worry is
defined by the fear of something yet to come, the
unknown or the feeling of being lost. Worry causes the
anxiety we experience and hopelessness we imagine. This
brings on the feeling that we have nothing to live for.
It is sometimes hard for us to understand but if we
worry it is a sign that we do not trust God. If we do
not trust God then our faith is weak. We who are not
fully trusting in God need to be in His word daily.
Ephesians 6:11 informed us to put on the complete armor
of God in order that we may be protected against the
schemes of the devil. There is nothing Satan would like
better than to put doubt in the minds of the followers
of Jesus. Doubt is one of the evil one’s strongest
tools. When doubt enters our minds then Satan the
accuser, tempter, the wicked one, the king of liars will
try to coheres us at every turn. If Satan has gained a
foothold, he and his demons will begin to bring us down
the path of destruction. But with prayer and the
devouring of the word we can beat the evil one. The Holy
Spirit is always present to assist us in our hour of
need. Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit who by His
direct influences will help us to overcome the
temptations that are put in our path by the forces of
evil. Read the parable of where the seed that was sown
fell on rocky ground. Were we excited when we first
heard the word. But we allowed evil to entice us with
the alluring trappings of the world. Have we then turned
our backs on Jesus who gave His very life for our sins
so that we may appear spotless before God on the Day of
Judgment? 1st Peter 1:18-19 -- Matthew 13:22 Our answer
is to be immersed in the word and allow God to speak to
us from His love letters. All the answers to anything we
need is in plain sight in the love letters that He has
written to us, if we will only seek them out. We have an
obligation to our God to try to help others if we can.
When we encounter others it may or may not be
obvious to us how well they study God's word. We
need to share with them that God still loves them and
will not leave them. The question is, if they are
indwelt with our Lord Jesus why does anyone worry any
way.
If a person is
concerned about what the world has to offer, then their
focus is on the wrong thing. We will then be left
without the real gains, like peace and joy that comes
with true salivation. Remember that you are the spice of
the world, but if the spice becomes tasteless then what
good are we? Matthew 5:13 And as we are the spice of the
world then if we cannot help others then we are useless.
Remember the parable about the fig tree. God was telling
us that if we don't bear fruit then we are useless.
Matthew 21:20-21
Sin is created
when we worry because God has told us that He lives
within us and offers guidance through the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 2:20 Therefore, our trust must be placed in
God. If we trust in Him and allow His word to guide us
we can overcome any obstacles that are a hindrance to
us. When we have the living God within us and we in Him
then nothing can defeat us. There is nothing that we can
do apart from our loving God. John 15:5 Worry is a clear
indication that we do not put our trust in God who
raises the dead. 2nd Corinthians 1:9 In the
beginning of our understanding we felt that what lay
ahead for us was death. We did not have the power in
ourselves to do anything. That was actually in our favor
for then we could put everything in the hands of God.
Only God can save us from the faith that awaits those
who do not know Him in a personal way. We all must come
to His Son and ask Him to come into our lives and be our
master. Jesus can lift any one from death to life. Not
trusting in God is a sin. When Christ gave His life on
the cross at Calvary, He released us and paid the price
for our sins. In order to receive this forgiveness all
we have to do is confess to Him that we are a sinner and
that He is the Son of God and ask Him into our life and
endeavor to follow Him in everything He has said. Every
sin that has been committed by man can be
forgiven with only one exception and that is denial of
the Holy Spirit.
Mark 4:21 gives us
instruction regarding our outreach. We are not to keep
it a secret about our Lord for He said that we are to
let our light shine in order that others may see the
light of Jesus in us. Matthew 28:19 gives us the
commandment that we are to go to all nations baptizing
all in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
teaching them about Jesus. When we read Luke 11:34 we
find that when the lamp of your body (your eye) is clear
the whole body will reflect His Light. But if it is
dingy then only darkness may shine through. Therefore
let your light shine, or is your eye clear or cloudy?
If we are full of light then we need to share it with
others. Matthew 5:14 tells us that if we are His our
light is not to be hidden from others. The lamp shines
only when it can be seen; so then we are the lamp that
should be seen so those that we encounter may find
eternal life through Jesus our redeemer.
We have great
anguish when we feel we have lost all hope for the
future. But there is a promise we can believe in and
that is that once we have committed our life to the
leadership of our faithful God, He will continue to work
with us even when our sin is unintentional. God has
promised that if we will live by His teachings, He who
began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of
Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 We all have the right of
chose, so what is your chose? good or evil?
